1. Organic Nutrient And Weed Management With Sweet Corn On Sandy SoilThe Central Sands region of Wisconsin is host to commercial-scale vegetable production, requiring intense nitrogen (N) fertilization. The limited nutrient holding capacity and minimal organic matter content of sandy soils in the Central Sands contributes to water nitrate contamination. Organic management may help to alleviate problems associated with leaching by increasing organic matter and nutrient retention in this soil. For organic agriculture to be feasible in this region, organic N inputs... |
