Minnesota soils are highly variable in P availability due to the wide range of chemical properties. Currently, two soil tests are used to measure soil P in Minnesota, the Bray-P1 for pH<7.4 and the Olsen P for pH>7.4. Studies have been conducted over a three-year period to determine the frequency and the cause of small grain response to KC1 additions on high K soils. During the first two years responsiveness of hard red spring wheat, spring barley, and oats were compared at six locations in eastern South Dakota. 8. Corn Responses to Sulfur Fertilizer in Indiana

Corn yield increases in response to sulfur (S) applied as ammonium thiosulfate in liquid N (in sidedress and/or starter fertilizer applications) occurred in ~40% of 40 trials conducted between 2017 and 2021 and ranged from 4 to 24 bushels per acre on responsive sites.
